Angel Arron Miranda Identified as Victim in Fatal Rear-End Crash on Highway 43 in Shafter
Shafter, CA – March 6 – Authorities have identified the man who died in a rear-end collision involving a big rig last month in Shafter as 22-year-old Angel Arron Miranda of McFarland, according to the Kern County Coroner’s Office. The fatal crash occurred at approximately 4:53 a.m. on Highway 43 and Orange Street. According to the California Highway Patrol, Miranda was driving a 2009 Toyota Corolla southbound on Highway 43 when he collided with the rear of a 2020 Freightliner Cascadia hauling double trailers. The impact caused the Toyota to catch fire, trapping Miranda inside the vehicle. Emergency responders arrived shortly after the crash was reported, but Miranda sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
