The Manhattan Beach Police Department confirmed the incident occurred around 1 a.m. on May 4. The victim, identified as Braun Levi, was struck by a vehicle while walking along Sepulveda Boulevard. According to investigators, 33-year-old Jenia Belt was driving along the roadway when she allegedly struck Levi. Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but Levi was pronounced dead at the crash site due to the severity of his injuries. Following the fatal crash, Belt was located and taken into custody. She is facing potential charges of DUI and murder in connection with the incident. Authorities confirmed she is being held without bail as the investigation continues.

Manhattan Beach, CA – Braun Levi Killed in Suspected DUI Pedestrian Collision on Sepulveda Boulevard

In the early hours of Sunday, May 4, 2025, 18-year-old Braun Levi, a senior at Loyola High School and a standout tennis player, was fatally struck by a vehicle while walking along Sepulveda Boulevard in Manhattan Beach, California. The incident occurred around 12:46 a.m. in the 100 block of South Sepulveda Boulevard. Emergency responders found Levi lying in the street next to the vehicle; he was transported to a hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The driver, identified as 33-year-old Jenia Belt of Los Angeles, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of driving under the influence and murder. She is currently being held without bail 

Levi was a beloved member of the Loyola High School community, known for his leadership and athletic prowess. He had recently won his fourth league championship in tennis and was set to attend the University of Virginia in the fall. His untimely death comes just months after his family lost their home in the Palisades Fire in January
