BAKERSFIELD, CA – A female cyclist was tragically killed following a late-night collision on Roberts Lane just east of Plymouth Avenue. The crash occurred shortly after 11:30 p.m. on June 15 when a westbound sedan—traveling at an estimated 35 to 40 mph—struck the cyclist, who entered the road outside of a marked crosswalk, according to the California Highway Patrol. The crash site lacked street lighting, and the bicycle was not equipped with any lights or reflective gear, making visibility poor.
