Daniel Aguirre Identified as Pedestrian Killed in Crash on Old River Road near White Oak Drive, Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, CA – On the night of June 7, 2025, tragedy struck when 22-year-old Daniel Aguirre lost his life after exiting his vehicle and being struck by a Honda sedan on Old River Road near White Oak Drive. CHP and Bakersfield Police responded to the scene at approximately 11:36 p.m.  According to authorities, Aguirre had been driving a silver Infiniti coupe that collided with a tree in the roadway’s center median. After exiting the vehicle, he was tragically struck by a southbound blue Honda. Emergency responders arrived quickly, but Aguirre was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Honda driver remained at the location and fully cooperated; impairment does not appear to be a factor.  Investigators continue to examine whether visibility, road conditions, or other factors contributed to the crash. Daniel’s death underscores the grave danger drivers and pedestrians face on California roads.
