Bakersfield, CA, June 10, 2025 – Authorities have identified the pedestrian fatally struck by a vehicle Saturday night in Bakersfield as 22-year-old Daniel Aguirre, according to the Kern County Coroner’s Office. The incident occurred around 11:36 p.m. on June 7 near Old River Road and White Oak Drive. Investigators say Aguirre had been driving a silver Infiniti coupe southbound on Old River Road when he lost control and struck a tree on the roadway median. After exiting the damaged vehicle, Aguirre was hit by a blue Honda sedan also traveling southbound on Old River Road. Emergency responders arrived but were unable to save him. He was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries sustained in the collision. The driver of the Honda remained at the site and cooperated with police. An investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
