Driver Rescued After Solo Vehicle Crash in Riverside’s Pachappa Cut
Riverside, CA, July 6, 2025 – A solo vehicle crash left a driver trapped after their car plunged off Olivewood Avenue and landed on the Union Pacific Railroad tracks near Pachappa Drive on Sunday, July 6, around 12:12 p.m., according to the Riverside Fire Department. Emergency crews responded to the scene, finding the car off the roadway in the Pachappa Cut. Due to the terrain, rail traffic was halted, and additional fire units were called. Rescue teams had to lower extrication equipment using an aerial ladder to reach the vehicle. The victim was safely extricated and hoisted up from the crash site using specialized equipment, then transported to a trauma center in moderate condition by AMR paramedics. Both directions of Olivewood Avenue were temporarily closed during the rescue.
