Lake Elsinore, CA – March 24 – Authorities have identified a woman who was killed in a multi-vehicle collision on Tuesday afternoon on Interstate 15 in Lake Elsinore. The victim was 37-year-old Emily Rew of San Diego. According to investigators, the crash occurred just before 4 p.m. near Main Street and involved multiple vehicles in a chain-reaction collision. Preliminary findings indicate the incident began when a gray Toyota Tacoma driven by a 32-year-old Perris man rear-ended a green Kia Niro operated by Rew. The force of the impact pushed the Kia into the No. 2 lane, where it was struck by a white Dodge Ram driven by a 50-year-old Los Angeles man. Authorities reported that the sequence of collisions continued as the Dodge Ram then crashed into a red Toyota Highlander driven by a 69-year-old Lake Elsinore man, and subsequently collided with a black Honda Accord operated by a 38-year-old woman from Murrieta.
