Hemet, CA – August 25, 2025 – A three-vehicle crash in Hemet left one woman dead and another person hospitalized on Monday evening. The collision occurred around 6:03 p.m. in the 28000 block of Warren Road near Poplar Street, according to the Hemet Police Department. Investigators said a northbound Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck drifted into the southbound lanes, sideswiping a Chevrolet Cruze. The impact caused the Cruze to slide sideways into the northbound lanes, where it was struck on the passenger side by a Toyota Tundra . Emergency responders found the Cruze’s driver, identified as Esther Elizalde, unresponsive at the scene. Despite life-saving efforts, she was pronounced dead. Another individual sustained injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment.

The deadly accident occurred around 6:03 p.m. in the 28000 block of Warren Road near Poplar Street. According to the California Highway Patrol, a silver Chevrolet Colorado pickup traveling northbound on Warren Road collided with two other vehicles under circumstances still under investigation. Emergency responders arrived at the scene and confirmed that Elizalde died from her injuries. One additional victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash and have not yet determined if impairment or speed played a role.
