Injuries Reported in Large Multi-Vehicle Crash on Highway 58 at Towerline Road in Bakersfield
Bakersfield, CA – January 27- Injuries were reported early Tuesday morning after a major multi-vehicle collision on eastbound Highway 58 at Towerline Road in Bakersfield, according to the California Highway Patrol. Authorities were dispatched around 8:07 a.m. following reports of a crash involving three vehicles. CHP officials said the initial collision quickly escalated, with at least a dozen additional vehicles becoming involved in a chain-reaction pileup.CHP officers and Caltrans District 6 crews responded to manage the scene and assist motorists. Injuries were reported among occupants of the involved vehicles, though officials did not specify how many people were hurt or the severity of their injuries. Due to the crash, eastbound lanes of Highway 58 were shut down at Towerline Road, while westbound traffic was diverted at Highway 223. Officials did not provide an estimated time for reopening the roadway. The incident remains under investigation.
