Fresno County, CA – May 15, 2025, Two people lost their lives in a violent two-vehicle crash Thursday night at the intersection of Westlawn and McKinley avenues, according to the California Highway Patrol. The collision occurred at approximately 9:05 p.m. when a Honda Civic, driven by 22-year-old Isac Gomez of Fresno, ran a stop sign while traveling north on Westlawn Avenue. A Chevrolet Silverado traveling westbound on McKinley Avenue struck the Civic on its right side . Gomez was transported to Community Regional Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries. Skye Banda, a 20-year-old passenger from Selma, also died at the scene.

Authorities reported that the incident involved a single vehicle that went off the roadway and struck a tree before bursting into flames. Both occupants were pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
