Man Identified After Fatal Wrong-Way Crash on 215 Freeway
Riverside, CA – January 14 – Authorities have identified the man who was killed early Wednesday morning in a devastating wrong-way crash on the 215 Freeway in Riverside. According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred around 12:15 a.m. after reports came in of a silver Mitsubishi Galant traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of the 215 Freeway near Cactus Avenue. Officers attempted to locate the vehicle as it continued driving against traffic, narrowly avoiding several other motorists. The wrong-way vehicle ultimately collided head-on with a silver Toyota Camry near Central Avenue. The Camry was driven by 32-year-old Raulder Sotelo of Riverside, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
