Bakersfield, CA, September 20, 2025 – The Kern County Coroner’s Office has identified 76-year-old Napoleon Frayna Grande and his wife, 66-year-old Susan Julian Grande, as the victims of a deadly collision in Bakersfield on Saturday morning. The crash occurred around 11:44 a.m. on September 20 at the intersection of Highway 65 and Famoso Road . According to the California Highway Patrol, Napoleon Grande was driving a 2016 Honda Fit eastbound on Famoso Road when he collided with a 2014 Freightliner tractor-trailer traveling southbound on Highway 65.

Authorities have identified Napoleon Grande, 58, as the victim of a fatal crash that occurred Tuesday night at the intersection of Highway 65 and Famoso Road in Bakersfield.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly collision took place around 7:20 p.m. when two vehicles collided under circumstances that remain under investigation. Emergency responders arrived quickly and attempted to save Grande’s life, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. No other major injuries were immediately reported. The CHP is working to determine if speed, impairment, or other factors contributed to the crash.
