NOS Tank Found After Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash in Boyle Heights
September 27, 2025 – Boyle Heights, Los Angeles, CA. – One person was killed in a suspected DUI hit-and-run crash Saturday afternoon in Boyle Heights, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. The incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. at Chicago Street and First Street, where a westbound vehicle on First Street struck two parked cars. One person was fatally injured in the collision. Authorities reported that the driver fled the scene but was later found injured and taken to a hospital from the nearby LAPD station. Investigators discovered a NOS tank inside the suspect’s vehicle, which police believe may have been used to inhale nitrous oxide, a substance known to cause impairment.
