One Injured in Boyle Heights Crash Involving High-Powered Hydrant
Boyle Heights, CA. – At around 2:00 a.m. on January 4, a single-vehicle crash occurred at Soto and Valley, where the vehicle collided with a high-powered hydrant. The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the scene, initially receiving reports that the incident might have been fatal. However, LAFD was able to transport at least one person from the scene.
The crash resulted in water shooting 100 feet into the air, which also made contact with live power lines. The Department of Water and Power (DWP) was called to the scene to assist with shutting off both the water supply and potentially the power to ensure safety. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is ongoing.
