One Killed in Multi-Vehicle Crash on Orange (57) Freeway near Chapman Avenue
Orange, CA – January 19 – One person was killed Monday morning following a multi-vehicle collision on the Orange (57) Freeway in the city of Orange, authorities reported. According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was reported shortly after 7:30 a.m. in the northbound lanes of the 57 Freeway near Chapman Avenue. Initial reports indicated that as many as four vehicles were involved, though investigators have not yet determined what caused the collision.CHP officers and fire crews responded to the scene, where one individual was pronounced dead as a result of the crash. Authorities have not confirmed whether the victim died at the scene or after being transported to a hospital. The collision led to the closure of several northbound lanes of the freeway, causing traffic delays as emergency crews worked to clear the roadway and conduct an investigation.
