One Seriously Injured in Semi-Truck and Car Collision on Tejon Highway in Bakersfield
Bakersfield, CA – June 2, 2025 – A major injury crash involving a semi-truck and a passenger car left one person seriously hurt Monday morning on Tejon Highway, just north of Mountain View Road in Bakersfield, according to the California Highway Patrol. The collision occurred at approximately 8:19 a.m. when a semi-truck with a yellow cab hauling double trailers collided with a gray Honda Accord under still-undetermined circumstances. The impact left a male occupant of the Honda pinned inside the vehicle, requiring emergency extrication.CHP reported that the crash scattered debris across the roadway and caused a significant diesel spill, with approximately 100 gallons of fuel leaking from the truck onto the dirt shoulder. Emergency personnel, including firefighters and paramedics, arrived promptly and transported the injured individual to a nearby hospital with major injuries. The condition of the truck driver was not reported. The cause of the crash is under investigation. Officials are working to determine whether factors such as speed, weather, mechanical issues, or driver error played a role.
