San Marcos, CA, July 19, 2025 – A devastating crash claimed one life early Saturday morning when a Nissan GTR flew off westbound Highway 78 and into the yard of a nearby business. The crash occurred around 2:00 a.m. on July 19, just west of Las Posas. Emergency crews searched the area and discovered the wrecked Nissan off the roadway. Firefighters began extrication efforts for the two occupants. The driver was removed from the vehicle and rushed to a trauma center with major injuries. Heavy tools were required to free the passenger, who was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. The California Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.
