Watsonville, CA – San Jose Woman Killed, Man Injured in Motorcycle Crash on Highway 1 

On July 16, 2025, at approximately 7:15 p.m., a solo motorcycle crash occurred on Highway 1 near the Highway 129 interchange in Watsonville, resulting in the tragic death of a 65‑year‑old San Jose woman who was a passenger, and serious injuries to the 59‑year‑old male rider—also from San Jose. According to the CHP, the Harley‑Davidson veered off the northbound side of the roadway, ejecting both riders. Although first responders were on scene quickly, the female passenger was pronounced dead, and the male rider was transported to Natividad Medical Center for treatment. Authorities suspect intoxication played a role in the crash.
