Compton, CA, June 27, 2025 – Two people were killed Friday night in a head-on collision involving four vehicles on Atlantic Avenue, according to emergency response officials.The fatal crash occurred around 9:19 p.m. on June 27, 2025, near the Los Angeles River overpass in Compton. Details are limited, but first responders arrived to find multiple people trapped inside one of the vehicles involved. Emergency crews worked to extricate victims from the wreckage. The driver of one vehicle was later found deceased and was covered at the scene. A second fatality was also confirmed. Authorities reported that at least two other individuals were transported to nearby hospitals with injuries, although their conditions remain unknown. All lanes of Atlantic Avenue were shut down between the 91 Freeway and Alondra Boulevard to allow for investigation and cleanup efforts. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
