Downey, CA – November 26, 2025, Authorities have identified 18-year-old Marely Ariana Fragoso Herrera as one of the two victims killed in a late-night crash on the southbound 5 Freeway in Downey, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office. The deadly collision occurred around 11:37 p.m. near the Lakewood Boulevard off-ramp. When emergency crews arrived, they found a gray car and another vehicle stopped in the middle lanes of the freeway. Herrera and a second victim were pronounced dead at the scene.
