Update: Couple Killed in Suspected DUI Car Accident at Stockdale Highway and Coffee Road in Bakersfield Identified
Bakersfield, CA – The Kern County Coroner’s Office has identified the couple killed in a suspected DUI crash at an intersection in Bakersfield early Sunday morning. The Bakersfield Police Department responded to the incident at around 1:37 a.m. on March 16, at the intersection of Stockdale Highway and Coffee Road. According to authorities, an Uber driver was transporting three passengers, including the couple, when they were struck by a suspected DUI driver. Max was pronounced dead at the scene, while Desiree was transported to Kern Medical, where she later succumbed to her injuries. The driver of the other vehicle, identified as a woman, sustained minor injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
