Modesto, CA – May 28, 2025 – A tragic two-vehicle accident in Modesto early Wednesday morning has left one woman dead and three others injured, including two in serious condition, according to the California Highway Patrol.The fatal crash occurred just before 6:00 a.m. on Mitchell Road, just south of Tenaya Drive. Investigators report that a 53-year-old Modesto woman was driving a 2025 Ford SUV northbound on Mitchell Road when she veered into the southbound lane for unknown reasons. Her vehicle collided head-on with a 2007 Cadillac SUV traveling in the opposite direction. The impact of the crash was severe. The driver of the Ford SUV was pronounced dead at the scene. Two of her passengers, a 34-year-old woman from Hughson and a 67-year-old man from Waterford, sustained major injuries. Emergency medical services responded promptly, and both injured individuals were transported to a nearby hospital for urgent treatment. The driver of the Cadillac SUV also sustained injuries, though the extent of those injuries has not been fully disclosed.
On the morning of December 13, 2023, a significant multi-vehicle accident occurred on the Mitchell Road Bridge near Finch Road in Modesto, California.
