1 Killed in Goleta Pedestrian Accident on Calle Real
Goleta, CA – June 29, 2025 – A woman lost her life early Sunday morning after being struck by a vehicle in a tragic pedestrian accident in Western Goleta. According to the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office, the fatal incident occurred just before 1:00 a.m. in the 7300 block of Calle Real. Authorities reported that 68-year-old Jeselyn Invina of Goleta was driving westbound when she looked away from the road, distracted by the glare of oncoming headlights. Her vehicle veered to the right, exited the roadway, and struck a female pedestrian. The victim, whose identity has not yet been released, was found approximately 300 feet from where the vehicle came to a rest in a nearby field. Sadly, she was pronounced dead at the scene. Deputies stated that Invina was unaware she had hit a person until law enforcement informed her at the scene. The incident remains under active investigation.
