At Least One Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash on 680 Freeway Near Rudgear Road in Walnut Creek
Walnut Creek, CA, May 21, 2025 – A multi-vehicle collision left at least one person injured on Wednesday evening along the northbound 680 Freeway in Walnut Creek. According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 6:20 p.m. just north of Rudgear Road. Three vehicles were involved in the accident, though the circumstances leading up to the crash remain under investigation. Emergency personnel from the San Ramon Fire Protection District responded to the scene and provided medical assistance. At least one individual was reported to have sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene or transported to a nearby hospital. Traffic was slowed in the area as officials worked to investigate the incident and clear the roadway.
