Big Rig Driver Dies After Apparent Medical Emergency on I-5 in Woodland
Woodland, CA – December 16- A semi-truck driver was killed Friday afternoon after a suspected medical emergency led to a crash on southbound Interstate 5 in Woodland, according to the California Highway Patrol. The collision was reported shortly after 4 p.m. near the County Road 102 interchange. Authorities said a caller contacted 911 and reported being on the phone with the driver before the crash, indicating the driver may have suffered a medical episode while behind the wheel.CHP officers from the Woodland Area and other emergency responders arrived at the scene, where the driver was pronounced dead.
