Francisco Fuentes Identified as Victim in Fatal Pedestrian Crash Near Del Amo Boulevard and Locust Avenue in Long Beach
Long Beach, CA – March 27 – Authorities have identified the pedestrian who died after being struck by a vehicle last week in Long Beach as 65-year-old Francisco Fuentes, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office. The incident occurred at approximately 8 p.m. near the intersection of Del Amo Boulevard and Locust Avenue. According to the Long Beach Police Department, Fuentes entered traffic lanes when he was struck by a westbound 2023 Hyundai Tucson traveling along Del Amo Boulevard. Emergency responders transported Fuentes to a nearby hospital for treatment. Despite medical efforts, he later succumbed to his injuries. Officials reported that the driver of the SUV remained at the scene and cooperated fully with investigators. Authorities stated that speed, distracted driving, and impairment were not believed to be contributing factors in the crash.
