Union City, CA (October 31, 2025) – Authorities have identified the pedestrian who was fatally struck by a vehicle on Wednesday morning in Union City as 54-year-old Gilbert Ramirez. The tragic collision occurred around 6:25 a.m. at the intersection of Decoto Road and Royal Ann Drive, according to the Union City Police Department. Ramirez was crossing Decoto Road when he was hit by an oncoming vehicle. Emergency personnel arrived shortly after the incident, but sadly pronounced Ramirez dead at the scene. The driver involved remained on-site and cooperated with investigators. The cause of the fatal collision remains under investigation.
