Man Dies After Airborne Tire Smashes Through Windshield on SR-60 in Beaumont
Beaumont, CA, November 17, 2025 – A man was killed in a violent crash on State Route 60 after a loose tire from another vehicle flew across the center divider and struck his windshield, authorities said. According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 1 a.m. on the westbound side of SR-60, just west of Jack Rabbit Trail. Investigators reported that a silver BMW 328i traveling eastbound lost its left rear tire, which became airborne and vaulted over the center divider. The tire slammed into the windshield of a white Toyota Sienna driven by a 68-year-old Los Angeles man, causing him to lose control. The minivan then collided with the center divider and rolled down a dirt embankment.
