San Jose, July 14, 2025. A tragic wrong-way collision claimed one life and left others critically injured early Monday morning in San Jose, according to the California Highway Patrol. The crash occurred at approximately 2:18 a.m. on July 14, 2025, on southbound Highway 87, just north of Taylor Street. Authorities say a Dodge Durango was driving northbound in the southbound lanes when it collided head-on with a Nissan Altima traveling in the correct direction.Emergency personnel responded quickly and transported passengers from both vehicles to a local hospital with critical injuries. Despite life-saving efforts, the passenger in the Nissan Altima was later pronounced dead.

A wrong-way collision occurred early Monday morning, July 21, 2025, at approximately 2:20 a.m. on southbound Highway 87, just north of Taylor Street in San Jose, California. According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2017 Dodge Durango was traveling north in the southbound lanes when it clipped a Nissan Altima. Both vehicles swerved, with the Altima striking the center concrete divider. The front-seat passenger in the Altima—a 36-year-old San Jose man—sustained major injuries and later died at the hospital. The front-seat passenger in the Durango also suffered major injuries. Both drivers were treated for minor injuries.
