One Person Killed in Wrong-Way Crash Involving Semi-Truck on I-5 Near I-505 in Woodland
Woodland, CA – March 10 – At least one person was killed early Tuesday morning following a wrong-way collision on Interstate 5 near Woodland, according to the California Highway Patrol. The crash occurred around midnight in the southbound lanes of Interstate 5 just south of the junction with Interstate 505. Authorities reported that a sedan was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of Interstate 5 when it collided head-on with a semi-truck. The impact of the crash reportedly caused the sedan to burst into flames shortly after the collision. Emergency responders, including firefighters, rushed to the scene and discovered two occupants trapped inside the sedan. Crews worked to extricate the individuals from the wreckage following the crash. Officials confirmed that at least one person involved in the collision died as a result of the incident. The condition of the second occupant was not immediately released.
