Lancaster, CA, September 22, 2025 – Authorities have identified 18-year-old Sergio Ortega of Little Rock as the victim of a suspected DUI crash on Monday evening in Lancaster. The deadly collision occurred around 6:50 p.m. on September 22 at the intersection of 90th Street East and East Palmdale Boulevard. According to the California Highway Patrol, 47-year-old M. Monroy of Palmdale was driving a maroon Kia southbound on 90th Street East when he failed to stop for a red light. The Kia collided with a gray Infiniti G35 traveling eastbound on Palmdale Boulevard, which then struck a white Chevrolet Avalanche pickup truck stopped at the intersection.

September 17, 2025 – Lancaster, CA – A man identified as Sergio Ortega, 41, was killed in a suspected DUI crash at the intersection of 90th Street East and East Palmdale Boulevard in Lancaster late Wednesday night.
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the fatal collision occurred around 11:40 p.m. when a vehicle traveling at high speed struck Ortega’s car. Deputies believe alcohol may have played a role in the deadly crash.
Ortega sustained critical injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver suspected of DUI was taken into custody and is facing charges. Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
