Los Angeles, CA. – Andrew Fierro, 28, was identified as the driver who died in a wrong-way crash early Sunday morning in downtown Los Angeles, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office. The collision occurred around 5:25 a.m. on the westbound Santa Monica (10) Freeway, just east of San Pedro Street. Authorities said Fierro was driving a Honda Civic eastbound in the westbound lanes when he collided head-on with a Toyota Sienna heading westbound. Fierro, the sole occupant of the Civic, was pronounced dead at the scene. His city of residence has not been released. Three people in the Sienna sustained serious injuries and were transported to the hospital for treatment. The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
