1 Killed, 3 Injured After Police Pursuit Ends in Fatal San Jose Crash
San Jose, CA, June 14– One person was killed and three others were injured early Sunday morning when a driver fleeing police allegedly ran a red light and crashed into another vehicle at a San Jose intersection. According to the San Jose Police Department, the collision occurred at approximately 12:19 a.m. at the intersection of Naglee Avenue and Park Avenue. Investigators said the incident began around 12:06 a.m. when officers with the Santa Clara Police Department observed a gold Buick being driven recklessly on Stevens Creek Boulevard. Police reported that the driver traveled on the center median and the wrong side of the roadway before officers attempted a traffic stop. Rather than pulling over, the motorist allegedly fled, leading officers through Santa Clara city streets and onto Interstate 880 in San Jose. The pursuit ultimately ended when the suspect vehicle reportedly ran a red light at Naglee Avenue and Park Avenue and collided with another vehicle.
