17-Year-Old Killed After Car Collides With Truck and Plunges From San Francisco Overpass
San Francisco, CA – June 1 — A 17-year-old boy was killed early Saturday morning when a car collided with a tractor-trailer on Interstate 80 and went off an elevated overpass in San Francisco, according to the California Highway Patrol. The fatal crash occurred at approximately 1:30 a.m. on eastbound Interstate 80 near the elevated Seventh Street off-ramp. Investigators said a gray Chevrolet Camaro traveling in the fast lane struck the left front portion of a Recology truck as it approached the exit. The impact caused both vehicles to veer into sand-filled crash barrels located at the top of the off-ramp. Authorities reported that the collision sent the Camaro off the overpass, resulting in fatal injuries to a 17-year-old occupant. Emergency crews responded to the scene, but the teenager was pronounced dead following the crash.
