24-Year-Old Visalia Man Dies After Crash with CALTRANS Trailer Near Selma

Fresno County, CA, June 11, 2025– A 24-year-old man from Visalia has died following a major crash involving a CALTRANS vehicle near Selma on Wednesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol. The deadly incident occurred at the intersection of Mountain View and Clovis avenues. Authorities report that the young man was driving a Toyota Corolla westbound on Clovis Avenue when he lost control of the vehicle. The Corolla veered into the path of a trailer hauling an asphalt paving machine, operated by a Fresno County employee. The impact caused both vehicles to leave the roadway and crash into a nearby orchard. Emergency personnel transported the driver of the Corolla to Community Regional Medical Center with critical injuries. He later succumbed to those injuries. His name has not been released pending notification of family.

24-Year‑Old Visalia Man Dies After Crash with CALTRANS Trailer Near Selma

VISALIA/SELMA, CA – On the morning of June 11, 2025, a fatal collision occurred near the intersection of Mountain View and Clovis avenues, just west of Selma. A 24-year-old man from Visalia, driving a Toyota Camry westbound on Clovis Avenue, lost control and crashed into an eastbound CALTRANS trailer hauling an asphalt paving machine  

The California Highway Patrol reports the Camry veered into the trailer’s path, sending both vehicles off the roadway and into an adjacent orchard. The driver was transported to Community Regional Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries . The driver of the CALTRANS trailer, a 39-year-old county employee, was unharmed. Investigators do not believe drugs or alcohol were involved, and the exact cause of the crash remains under investigation.
