25-Year-Old Man Killed, Another Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash in Madera County

Madera County, CA – June 25 — A 25-year-old man from Madera was killed, and another driver was injured in a two-vehicle collision on Wednesday evening at an intersection in Madera County, according to the California Highway Patrol. The crash occurred at approximately 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of Avenue 18½ and Road 19. Investigators said a 2000 Toyota Tacoma driven by the Madera man was travelling northbound on Road 19 when it allegedly failed to stop at a posted stop sign and entered the intersection. According to CHP, the Tacoma crossed into the path of a westbound 2022 Hyundai Tucson driven by a 40-year-old man from Chowchilla, causing the two vehicles to collide. Following the impact, both vehicles overturned and came to rest in an orchard northwest of the intersection. Authorities said the Toyota driver was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the pickup during the crash. Despite life-saving efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The Hyundai driver, who was wearing a seat belt, sustained moderate injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
