Pacific Beach, CA – January 17 –  A 6-year-old boy was killed Saturday afternoon in a hit-and-run collision that occurred in a residential area of Pacific Beach, authorities said. According to the San Diego Police Department, the incident was reported around 3:45 p.m. in the 1500 block of Pacific Beach Drive near Ingraham Street. Investigators said the child was riding a bicycle and crossing an alley when he was struck by a vehicle traveling through the alley . Police reported that the driver briefly stopped after the initial impact but then fled the scene, striking the child a second time while leaving the area. Officers and firefighters responded quickly, and the boy was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. His identity has not been released.Authorities identified a 32-year-old woman as the suspected driver. Her vehicle was later located in National City, and she was taken into custody.
