Amber Alert Issued After Mother Found Dead; Missing 5-Year-Old Believed to Be With Suspect
San Diego, CA – May 26 — An Amber Alert remained active Tuesday across parts of Southern California as authorities searched for a missing 5-year-old girl believed to have been abducted following the killing of her mother, according to the California Highway Patrol. Investigators said the child, identified as Daleza Fregoso, is believed to have been taken by 40-year-old Ruben Fregoso. Authorities reported that the pair were last seen at approximately 4 a.m. Sunday near Alsace Avenue and Ferndale Street in Los Angeles County. The Amber Alert was issued Monday by the California Highway Patrol on behalf of the Los Angeles Police Department as detectives continued investigating the death of the child’s mother. Officials believe the child may be in danger and urged the public to contact law enforcement with any information regarding their whereabouts.
