A red Kia sedan was among the vehicles involved and was found down an embankment along the freeway’s right-hand shoulder following the impact. Emergency personnel responded to the scene and confirmed at least one fatality as a result of the crash. The identities of those involved have not yet been released. The collision prompted the closure of southbound I-15 near Zzyzx Road while officials investigated the scene and cleared the wreckage.
