Death of Inmate Found Hanging in San Diego Jail Ruled a Suicide
San Diego, CA – May 29 — The death of a murder suspect who was found hanging inside the San Diego Central Jail earlier this year has been ruled a suicide, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities identified the inmate as Grant Parker, 34. Deputies discovered Parker hanging in his cell at the Front Street detention facility on the afternoon of March 8. Jail personnel immediately initiated CPR and continued lifesaving efforts until paramedics arrived and took over emergency medical care. Parker was transported to a hospital, where he died two days later, officials said. The death was subsequently investigated, and authorities determined that Parker died by suicide.
