Driver Killed in Fiery Crash on Highway 130 Near Mount Hamilton
Mount Hamilton, CA, June 11, 2025 – A deadly solo-vehicle crash occurred Monday night on Highway 130, claiming the life of one driver after the vehicle erupted in flames. According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident took place around 8:55 p.m. on Highway 130, also known as Mount Hamilton Road, in the area of Sawtooth Canyon. Preliminary reports indicate that a sedan traveling westbound veered off the roadway for unknown reasons. The vehicle struck a culvert and a retaining wall before catching fire. By the time emergency responders arrived, the vehicle was fully engulfed in flame s. Tragically, the driver, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene. The CHP is continuing to investigate the cause of the crash and has not released the victim’s identity pending notification of next of kin.
