Dylan Monson Identified as Motorcyclist Killed in State Route 101 Crash in Goleta
A tragic motorcycle accident in Goleta claimed the life of Dylan Monson, a 22-year-old resident of Isla Vista, following a collision on State Route 101. Authorities have confirmed the victim’s identity as investigators continue working to determine the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.
According to the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office Coroner’s Bureau, Dylan Monson died after a motorcycle crash that occurred at approximately 4:18 p.m. on northbound State Route 101 near the Storke Road interchange.
Emergency responders, including firefighters, paramedics, and law enforcement officers, arrived at the scene shortly after receiving reports of the collision. Despite immediate lifesaving efforts, Monson sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead. The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office Coroner’s Bureau later identified the victim as Dylan Monson.
Authorities temporarily closed portions of northbound State Route 101 while investigators documented the crash scene, examined the motorcycle and any involved vehicles, and cleared debris from the roadway. The investigation remains ongoing, and officials continue to review witness statements, roadway evidence, vehicle damage, and traffic conditions to determine what factors contributed to the collision.
