Four Hospitalized After Red-Light Collision at Shaw and Armstrong Avenues in Clovis
Clovis, CA – January 30 – Four people were hospitalized Friday night after a driver ran a red light and triggered a three-vehicle crash at a busy Clovis intersection, according to the Clovis Police Department. The collision occurred around 9 p.m. at Shaw and Armstrong avenues. Preliminary findings indicate a Subaru traveling eastbound on Shaw Avenue failed to stop for a red light after the driver became distracted by a GPS device. The Subaru struck a Chevrolet that was moving through the intersection on Armstrong Avenue. Following the initial impact, the Chevrolet collided with a third vehicle, while the Subaru continued through a brick wall and came to rest in the backyard of a nearby home. Police said the Chevrolet was occupied by a woman and three children, all of whom were transported to a hospital with injuries that were not described as life-threatening.
