Four Injured, Two Critically, in Fiery Multi-Vehicle Crash on State Route 1 Near Lompoc
Lompoc, CA, June 30 – Four people were injured, including two critically, in a fiery multi-vehicle collision Tuesday evening on State Route 1 near Lompoc, according to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department. Authorities said the crash was reported shortly after 6:00 p.m. on June 30 along State Route 1, approximately 11 miles north of Highway 101. Emergency crews arrived to find three vehicles involved in the collision. Investigators have not yet determined how the crash occurred. Firefighters discovered one of the vehicles engulfed in flames and quickly extinguished the fire before it could spread to nearby vegetation. Four people sustained injuries in the collision. Two victims suffered critical injuries, with one airlifted by a county helicopter to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. The second critically injured patient and two others with moderate injuries were transported by ground ambulance to local hospitals.
