Kathleen Banks Identified as Woman Killed in Long Beach Pedestrian Crash
Long Beach, CA – June 10 — Authorities have identified the woman who died after being struck by a vehicle earlier this month in Long Beach. The Long Beach Police Department said Kathleen Banks, 71, succumbed to injuries she sustained in the collision that occurred at approximately 4:50 a.m. on June 3 at the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Pacific Avenue. According to investigators, Banks was walking southbound in the east crosswalk of Pacific Coast Highway against a red traffic signal when she was struck by a westbound Chevrolet Malibu sedan travelling along Pacific Coast Highway. Emergency personnel transported Banks to a local hospital for treatment. Despite lifesaving efforts, she later died from her injuries.
