Man Struck by Vehicle in Sacramento Dies from Injuries Days After Collision
Sacramento, CA. – A pedestrian who was critically injured after being struck by a vehicle on Friday morning in Sacramento has died from his injuries, according to a statement released by the Sacramento Police Department on Monday. The incident occurred at approximately 8:30 a.m. near the intersection of Norwood Avenue and Eleanor Avenue. Authorities say the victim, a man in his 50s, was walking in the area when he was struck by a vehicle under circumstances that remain under investigation. Emergency medical personnel arrived on the scene and found the man suffering from life-threatening injuries. He was quickly transported to a nearby hospital, where he remained in critical condition. Despite the efforts of medical staff, he succumbed to his injuries over the weekend. The driver of the vehicle involved remained at the scene and cooperated fully with law enforcement. Investigators have not yet determined whether speed, impairment, or distraction played a role in the collision.
