Motorist Seriously Injured in Big Rig Crash on Interstate 10 in Desert Center
Desert Centre, CA – May 22 — A 31-year-old driver suffered major injuries Friday morning in a collision involving two big rigs on Interstate 10 in Riverside County, according to the California Highway Patrol. The crash was reported shortly before 5:20 a.m. on Interstate 10 east of Corn Springs Road in Desert Centre. Authorities said a big rig operated by a 63-year-old man was travelling at approximately 50 mph when it was struck from behind by another big rig, reportedly travelling at around 55 mph. Investigators stated that the impact was severe enough to cause the cab of the second truck to separate from its frame.
