One Killed, Four Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 15 in Newberry Springs
Newberry Springs, CA – July 5 — One person was killed, and four others were injured, including two who sustained critical injuries, in a two-vehicle collision Sunday afternoon on Interstate 15 in Newberry Springs, according to authorities. The crash occurred at approximately 12:10 p.m. on July 5 on northbound Interstate 15, south of Harvard Road. Authorities said the collision involved a Toyota and a Nissan hatchback. Emergency crews responded to the scene and found one occupant trapped inside the Nissan hatchback. Rescue personnel worked to extricate the victim, but despite their efforts, the individual was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 1:00 p.m. The identity of the deceased has not been released pending notification of next of kin. Four other people were injured in the crash. Authorities said two of the victims suffered critical injuries, while the conditions of the remaining injured occupants have not been disclosed.
