One Seriously Injured in Rear-End Crash on State Route 58 in Boron
Boron, CA – July 7 — One person sustained major injuries in a rear-end collision involving a semi-truck early Tuesday morning in Boron, according to the California Highway Patrol. The crash occurred at approximately 2:48 a.m. on eastbound State Route 58, just east of Borax Road. According to the CHP, a Toyota Camry rear-ended a semi-truck under circumstances that remain under investigation. Following the impact, the Camry overturned. Authorities said one person became trapped inside the Camry. The vehicle was reported to be smoking after the crash, but emergency crews quickly contained the situation and prevented a fire from spreading. Firefighters and paramedics responded to the scene and provided medical treatment before transporting the injured person, who suffered major injuries, to a hospital. The damaged Toyota Camry was towed from the scene.
