Pedestrian Hospitalized After Vehicle Strikes Woman on East Carrillo Street in Santa Barbara
Santa Barbara, CA – March 14 – A pedestrian was hospitalized Saturday morning after being struck by a vehicle near an intersection in Santa Barbara, according to the Santa Barbara City Fire Department. Authorities reported that the incident was initially dispatched around 8:57 a.m. near East Carrillo Street and Anacapa Street. Emergency crews were first directed to the Santa Barbara Farmers Market area. However, upon arrival, responders determined that the collision had actually occurred in the parking lot of the U.S. Bank at the same intersection.Preliminary findings indicate that a woman had been sitting on a sandstone wall near the sidewalk when a vehicle backing out of a parking space struck her, knocking her to the ground. First responders provided medical assistance at the scene before transporting the injured pedestrian to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
