Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck by Pickup Truck on Highway 41 in Fresno
Fresno, CA – July 6 — A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle Sunday evening on Highway 41 in Fresno, according to the California Highway Patrol. The fatal collision occurred on Sunday, July 5, in the northbound lanes of Highway 41. Preliminary findings indicate the man was attempting to cross the busy highway when he was struck by a Dodge pickup truck. Investigators said one driver reportedly slowed down to allow the pedestrian to cross before the victim was hit by the pickup. Emergency responders arrived at the scene and pronounced the pedestrian dead. The victim’s identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin. Authorities said the driver of the Dodge pickup remained at the scene and cooperated fully with investigators. According to the California Highway Patrol, drugs and alcohol are not believed to have been factors in the collision.
